Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has sanctioned this project to Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for implementation of Livelihood Advancement Business School under SGSY Special Projects for the Rural poor youth in Sultanpur and Rae Bareli Districts in U.P. with an objective to enhance the employability skills of these youth so as to make them self sustained. The project is being implemented since 2006 under the name SGSY LABS with 100% grant support from Ministry of Rural Development. National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Lucknow Regional Office has been made as the monitoring and fund routing agency for this program. The Project aims to reach out to and benefit 7570 youth in both the districts put together by December, 2012.
Since inception of the Project till 15th May, 5659 youth have availed of this opportunity and 3455 youth have been successfully linked with job opportunities. Currently, 4 training centers are operational in Sultanpur district and 5 in Rae Bareli district. This program is being implemented smoothly and successfully with continued support from NABARD Officials both at Regional and district level.
